How students pay for training
Blue Horizon Aviation does not offer in-house financing. Students here pay as they fly — one lesson at a time — which is why we spend so much effort making each hour count: standardized Cirrus instruction, a simulator that absorbs the expensive weather and emergency work, and a learn-don’t-rent approach to every flight. If you need to spread the cost further than that, an outside lender or an aviation scholarship is the usual route, and we are happy to talk through what other students have done.
Ways to fund the training
Every path below is one we actually work with — talk to us and we'll help you pick the right one for your goals and timeline.
Pay as you fly
The way nearly everyone trains here: you pay for each lesson as you take it, so there is no lump sum at the start and nothing owed if life gets in the way.
- No large deposit and no long-term commitment — a Discovery Flight is $99.
- Flying consistently is what keeps the total down; long gaps mean re-learning, and re-learning is what costs money.
Outside lenders & scholarships
Some students use a personal loan or an aviation scholarship to cover a stretch of training. That arrangement is between you and the lender or awarding body — Blue Horizon is not part of it.
- Nothing is arranged through us and nothing is owed to us — the terms are set entirely by the lender or the awarding body.
- Tell an instructor what you are considering. We cannot approve it, but we can tell you what other students here have actually done.
Blue Horizon Aviation is not a lender and does not arrange credit. Any loan or scholarship terms are set entirely by the lender or awarding organization.
You don’t carry all the fuel at once.
A long trip is flown in legs, with a stop at the end of each one. Paying for a rating works the same way.
The cheapest dollar is
the one you don't spend
However you fund training, the same levers control the total. Financing covers the cost — these habits shrink it.
